Queensland Intervarsity Law Competition 2026
About QILC
The Queensland Intervarsity Law Competitions (QILC) is an intervarsity advocacy competition hosted by QUT Law Society Inc. for 2026.
QILC brings together law students from participating Queensland universities to compete across five competition streams: Constitutional Moot, Human Rights Moot, Witness Examination, Negotiation and Client Interview. The competition is designed to give students the opportunity to develop practical legal skills, build confidence in professional advocacy settings, and represent their university in a supportive but competitive environment.
The competition is coordinated by the QUTLS External Competitions Portfolio, which is responsible for the planning, delivery and operational management of QILC, including competitor coordination, venue logistics, round administration and judge liaison.
Rounds will be judged by legal practitioners, academics and experienced competitors, ensuring that students receive valuable feedback while competing in a professional and well-supported environment. The competition will conclude with the Grand Finals, showcasing the highest-performing teams across the competition streams.
QUTLS gratefully acknowledges the support of our QILC sponsors: Clayton Utz, the Human Rights Law Association, Johnson Winter & Slattery, and QUT PLT.
