Witness Examination Showcase

  • Gibson Room (Level 10, Z Block), QUT Gardens Point 2 George Street Brisbane City, QLD, 4000 Australia (map)

Ever wondered how a Moot Court trial actually runs at QUT? This is your chance to see it live!
The Witness Examination Showcase is an interactive, simulated Moot Court trial that shows exactly how mooting operates at QUT Law Society — from trial preparation through to witness examination and judicial questioning.

What’s happening on the night:

- A live simulated Moot Court trial
- Witness examination & cross-examination in action
- Previous competition winners appearing as counsel: Joshua Steele, Director of Moot Club and 2025 Internal Witness Examination Competition Winner, vs Millide Evans, QUTLS Treasurer and 2025 QILC Witness Examination Winner
- Members of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions sitting as judges
- Networking over dinner with students and legal professionals

Why you should come along:

This showcase is designed to break down how mooting works and show you what advocacy looks like in practice, helping you build confidence and feel ready to get involved in the Mooting Program later in the year.

No experience needed, just curiosity!

And did we mention there’s free food?
