The Creativity Portfolio brings student talent and humour to life through Law Revue and the George Street Journal. The team coordinates performances, writing, production and creative events, giving students opportunities to express themselves beyond their legal studies.

The Diversity, Culture and Wellbeing Portfolio promotes an inclusive and supportive law school community. Through events, advocacy and student initiatives, the team supports students from diverse backgrounds, first year students, LGBTQIA+ students and students with disability, injury or health conditions.

The Education Portfolio supports students’ academic, personal and professional development through educational events, networking opportunities and career initiatives. The team also coordinates mentoring and buddy programs, connecting students with support, guidance and opportunities throughout their studies.

The Events Portfolio brings the QUTLS community together through Law Ball, Law Dinner and semester celebrations. The team manages everything from venues, theming and entertainment to ticketing and event delivery, creating opportunities for students to connect and celebrate.

The External Competitions Portfolio coordinates QUTLS’ participation in intervarsity, national and international legal competitions. The team organises competitor selection, registrations and competition arrangements, while working with universities, coaches and legal professionals to support students representing QUTLS.

The Indigenous Australians Portfolio represents and supports Indigenous Australian law students, providing cultural leadership and advocacy across QUTLS. The team develops cultural, educational and professional opportunities, builds community connections and promotes culturally safe and inclusive practices throughout the Society.

Positions within this portfolio are identified roles for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons.

The Internal Competitions Portfolio organises QUTLS’ internal legal competitions, helping students develop practical skills and confidence. The team coordinates competition materials, registrations, draws, judges and volunteers, supporting fair and well-organised competitions from the opening round to the grand final.

The Media and Communications Portfolio manages QUTLS’ social media presence and marketing. Through graphic design, photography, video and written content, the team promotes events and opportunities, keeps students informed and captures the activities of the QUTLS community.

The Moot Club Portfolio helps students develop their mooting skills through workshops, events and practical learning opportunities. The team prepares workshop content, coordinates guest involvement and organises activities that support students’ confidence, advocacy skills and preparation for competitions.

The Publications Portfolio produces QUTLS’ print and online publications, including Gavel and resources developed with other portfolios. The team manages submissions, editing, design and publishing, creating opportunities for student contributions and delivering engaging, informative publications for the law school community.

The Sponsorship Portfolio builds and maintains the partnerships that support QUTLS’ events, competitions and initiatives. The team develops sponsorship opportunities, liaises with prospective and existing sponsors, coordinates sponsor involvement and works across portfolios to deliver agreed sponsorship benefits.

The Sport and Health Portfolio encourages students to connect, stay active and look after their physical and mental wellbeing. The team organises sporting events, health initiatives and wellbeing activities, working with university partners and other portfolios to support students throughout the year.

IT and Operations Officers support the everyday running of QUTLS, working closely with the Secretary and Treasurer. Their responsibilities span digital systems and the website, administration, governance support, merchandise, grants and financial administration, helping the Society and its committee operate effectively.
